Michelle is a municipal management consultant and trainer who uses her more than 34 years of municipal experience to help others learn, develop, find efficiencies, and modernize service delivery. As a CAO and Clerk, she has focused much of her career helping municipalities ‘do the right things’ and ‘do things right’. Michelle lives her belief in the concept of continuous improvement in both her professional and personal life. She gets things done.
Michelle has a Diploma in Public Administration and holds the Certified Municipal Officer designation. She is an Accredited Ontario Municipal Clerk.
She is an AMCTO Instructor - Municipal Clerks Institute - “Building Your Networks: It’s All About Relationships!” And “Effective Communication and Dealing with Sensitive Issues”.
Michelle Smibert
MPA, CMO, AOMC
Michelle has been actively involved in local government for over 30 years. Her experience was gained in a variety of capacities including CAO/Clerk/Elected Official. Building strong teams to see communities flourish is her passion and her legacy.
As a Past President of AMCTO, she is proud of this Association and the support it provides all those who chose local government as their career path. Michelle is confident in her knowledge and aptitude for developing workable strategies. She can recognize a smart move when she sees it.
Michelle has a Masters Degree in Public Administration and holds the Certified Municipal Officer designation. She an Accredited Ontario Municipal Clerk.
